It has auto shut-off, but residual steam will continue cooking your eggs, so take them out quickly once finished. The egg piercer is a bit too dull to work well, but this gadget is awesome for grabbing breakfast while sitting through work phone meetings.

Tested it today with two hard-boiled eggs. They turned out perfect after 12 mins and peeled with no trouble. Can't wait to try soft boiled tomorrow. Only watch out for the hot steam when removing the lid. Run eggs under cold water and you're good. Works exactly as advertised.

Everything has been working well for roughly two weeks now. Soft boiled eggs are delicious and cleanup is easy. Only downside is I still have no clue what those tiny rectangle containers are for.
